Last class I worked on getting door 7 to close at the same pace as Donnie is closing it.
I ran into a problem when I first began to rotate the door shut. The entire door and frame moved when I rotated it. I went through my nodes and realized it was because of the copyToPoints. To fix this I just moved an individual door to where door 7 is supposed to be.
I have 3 different versions of the door shutting animation...
This one was keyframed to match a reference video I have of Donnie shutting a door:
This one uses less key frames because I thought it may give me a smoother movement... Didn't really work out:
This one was keyframed to follow the Donnie being used to close door 7. This is the one I used in the final render below:
This is the first rendered version. I may refine the animation and render again. If I do, I would also like to put another light into the scene that is coming from the left. There is a window to the left of the environment, so realistically the door would look brighter, but it is not a high priority right now.
When the door closes, you can still see into the room due to the bottom of the door not being at the bottom of the door frame. I can either make so they are together, even though that isn't realistic. Or I can extend the door so the gap isn't as big. Or I can make it less noticeable by adding sand in the room.
I've thought about this before because I feel like it would help the doors feel further integrated. I tried it out with shot 1. I also added a shadow below his foot.

I also changed the amount that the door design pushes in. I thought the indent was too deep with all the other renders, so I changed it for this recent door 7 one. If time permits, I will re-render all the doors with this updated model.
