Class 6

Unfortunately not a lot of progress has been made since last class. The second door turns out to be really difficult to track. I made a chart where I mapped out where each door would need to be tracked when separated from the rest. Door 1 has always stuck fine, but door 2 slips every time I track it. I ended up making 5 user tracks for it then tracking again.

That resulted in the lowest solve I had gotten with this shot. I adjusted some settings to get it even lower and suddenly all of my tracks were orange and red and I couldn't undo it. I made another camera tracker node and brought over my user tracks and then got this error after I solved:

I tried 2 more times and kept getting the same error. I'm not too how to fix this, but I will be trying again tomorrow. I have a plan to have all the doors tracked with no slipping by next class. I plan to also have the other settings in the doors by next class. Many of the comments I got on class 5 were about how the sand was flat where the doors are and I am working on addressing that. This weekend I am going to experiment with grains in Houdini and see what result I get when I shove the door model into the grains. After looking at my references, I probably wont put too much sand in front of the doors since the sand is kind of flat and untouched. I think the most important thing to integrate it further is a shadow and contact shadow.
